Rehabilitation Exercises

Functional rehabilitation includes strengthening of weak or inactive muscles to stabilize areas of the spine or joints that are currently being used inappropriately due to a muscular imbalance. Without appropriate rehabilitation, injuries frequently result in significant physiological and functional losses which increase the risk for reinjury of the affected area, as well as adjacent tissues and joints.

While this model has primarily been applied to sports medicine and athletes, it is also appropriate for “industrial athletes”, employees who use their musculoskeletal system to perform their jobs, in order to return the injured worker as quickly as possible without risk of re-injury. Rehabilitation exercises paired with chiropractic adjustments are the gold standard for quicker recovery. Our patients will often be taught specific exercises they can do to "hold" the adjustment longer.
